Hi folks,

Since one of these could be quite useful for the season I wanted to share a few more of our informal recorded events<https://vimeo.com/showcase/9897340>:

  *
Gift Giving Options You Can Feel Good About<https://vimeo.com/curtislibrary/feelgoodgiftgiving?share=copy> <https://vimeo.com/curtislibrary/feelgoodgiftgiving?share=copy>
     * Come and explore how choosing gifts can be a positive experience – in this holiday season and beyond! We’ll present a buying guide full of resources and tips on ways to be a more thoughtful consumer, and hear stories about approaches to gift giving that build and strengthen our communities. Presented by Mary O’Brien of Hope and Action: An Economy for All (https://www.hopeactioneconomy.com/), and local representatives of more sustainable business approaches. A panel presentation will be followed by Q & A and discussion, and we’ll have a resource table for browsing. Come learn and join the conversation - fair trade tea, coffee and snacks will be served!

     *

     * · Jenna Vanni, Woods and Waters Gear Exchange

     *   ·        Benn Marine, Responsibly Different/B Corporations

     * · Emmy Andersson, Cooperative Maine Business Alliance

     *   ·        Ward Clark, Dean’s Beans Fan.

  *
Electric Bicycles: Find Your Fit<https://vimeo.com/showcase/9897340/video/848793166>
     *
Join Center Street Cycles, Gorham Bike & Ski, The Rusty Crank, Brunswick-Topsham Land Trust and Curtis Memorial Library to learn about electric bicycles. Experts from our local bicycle shops will go over what types of electric bikes exist and the benefits and drawbacks of different models. Let us help you determine what could be the right electric bike for your needs and wants. Are you interested in budget options? Do you understand how to use them safely? Can you find the right fit for your kids and your parents? Bring your questions and learn with us. Sample electric bicycles will be available to examine.

  *
Electric Vehicles: How to purchase, use and maintain the right EV for you
     *
Join us to learn how to confidently purchase an EV, locate chargers, and what benefits and costs to expect over the life of your vehicle. Enjoy: A brief introduction to electric vehicles by Sam Saltonstall of the MidCoast South Citizens' Climate Lobby Chapter An explanation of the many monetary incentives to help you purchase an EV from Efficiency Maine by Hogan Dwyer A discussion by a panel of EV dealers and owners A summary of where EVs are, where they are going, and why driving electric matters by Barry Woods, Senior Director of eMobility at ReVision Energy Time to mingle and ask questions

Please feel free to run something similar in your area, and/or reach out. Mary is a wonderful human and could likely give a version of the gift giving options program (with just her) anywhere. see her basic website here: https://www.hopeactioneconomy.com/ And yes, Alex, they're coming your way (to the SLI portal) after our series is done... 😉

My very best wishes,

Hazel
