[eresources] Cancellation of Children's Literature Comprehensive Database

Colleagues,

Following discussions with our Youth Services Department and input gathered from Youth Services Librarians, we have decided not to renew the Children's Literature Comprehensive Database as an e-resource when it expires at the end of this month, September. This decision is driven by two key factors: low usage across our system and a nearly 10% price increase for the upcoming year. We ask that all links to this database be removed from your websites.

Recognizing that some libraries will wish to continue with this resource, I have been in communication with the database's president to explore a coordinated group purchase option. The goal was to secure the most cost-effective pricing possible for any libraries interested in continuing.  The fee would be $595.00 per library (Libraries with more than one location would be paying $595.00 per library location) for the 2025-2026 year.
