Hi Anastasia,
I haven't heard of a library conducting a waste audit without sorting the trash to figure this out. But please feel free to reach out to your mentor to figure out a path forward, there is always wiggle room!

Goals to keep in mind:

Ensuring items that should be recycled, are recycled
  *
Reducing the purchase of items that end up in the landfill

Hi!


What has your library done to meet the Waste Audit requirement? We are trying to find a way to do this that will not involve laying all our trash out on a tarp, since our managers have strongly requested that we not do that.



I started with conversations with our custodians who collect our trash to see if we can determine how many recyclables are being thrown away. Does that fit the goal of the action item?
