[SLI-public] Happy Earth Day!

Good morning!
I am writing to wish you a Happy Earth Day and to thank you for your leadership on the topic of sustainability.

We live in interesting times.

As you read the headlines and think through the many challenges facing climate action and resilience in our communities I want to remind you that you have remained focused on doing something rather than nothing. You have not been paralyzed by information overload, you have not succumbed to numbness in the face of the dire predictions around climate change, artificial intelligence, and politics, you are using your platform for good.

This morning I was reminded of this quote from Buckminster Fuller:

"You can't change anything by fighting or resisting it. You change something by making it obsolete through superior methods."

Your willingness to be a vanguard on the topic of the core value of sustainability is doing just that. You are changing mindsets in your organizations and in our profession by showing the way forward using hope, perseverance and a laser focus on putting kindness for others at the heart of what we do.
