Hi all,
Lindenhurst received an aeroponic garden tower (similar to this newer model: https://us.towergarden.com/products/tower-garden-flex?absrc=Google&abid=679502343118&abcampid=20746283491&abgroupid=154828005346&gclid=CjwKCAjw_-3GBhAYEiwAjh9fUNXHYI-9P_Xz6sWNjAVTi7icvoIRl4rO-EURyrXdgBT8cR4jxbwbjhoChMUQAvD_BwE&abkwdid=pla-293946777986&gad_source=1&gad_campaignid=20746283491&gbraid=0AAAAADvQgJ4k2sT8NZHvM-IEF8qfwqCR5) and we love it! We use it in library programming for kids, teens and adults, and donate produce grown to the local community as well.
I'm happy to answer any other questions about it. Our tower (named Edgar Allen Grow) is also featured on the back of our latest newsletter, and there are programs that mention it as well. https://www.lindenhurstlibrary.org/sites/default/files/content/newsletter/21017_LML_Oct_Nov_Dec.%202025%20nwsltrV6%20%281%29_0.pdf

Subject: [SLI-public] Indoor Hydroponic Growing System
Hello SLI Community,
We received the following question from one of our members. Please let me know if you have any knowledge or experience with indoor garden systems and growing food indoors or if you know of a library that does who we can connect this member with. Any help you can offer would be greatly appreciated:
We would like to purchase an indoor garden system, such as the one shown in the Amazon link below from Gardyn. We would like to use it with teens and tweens to learn about growing food indoors, and to share the food with patrons.
Are there any other libraries I could connect with who are doing a similar thing?
Is there anything I should be considering? I assume this type of system is good for sustainability and could also be used to fulfill Action Item C.10?
Thank you for any advice!
