Howdy folks,
It is quite warm up North, which is leading a number of our patrons to ask us about outdoor cooking options. Do any of you lend solar ovens or other outdoor cooking tools that you would recommend?
We currently lend:
* A small rocket stove (fueled by twigs and yard waste)
* A GoSun solar oven
* An induction plate (that can be paired with a grill pan, among other options)
* A Bonfire Solo Stove
* A number of cast-iron tools that can be used with a standard campfire
I am currently weighing the benefits and drawbacks of a number of solar oven designs and some solar powered electric range options. We have done and will like do more DIY programs (for rocket stoves, pizza ovens and solar ovens), but I am primarily looking for products to purchase at this time in the 100-300$ range. We will not lend any fossil fuel-based items. Have any of you tried one of the many portable parabolic solar cookers now on the market? Or do you find that the American Sun Oven goes out? ... If you have any preferences or favorite projects, please share!
