and board infiltrations in libraries. Participants will gain access to a
comprehensive online toolkit, providing digital resources for effectively
addressing these challenges and engaging with advocacy groups.
Additionally, attendees are invited to join a newly established online
forum, designed as a collaborative space for exchanging ideas and
supporting efforts against censorship in libraries. This event is essential
for professionals committed to preserving the freedom of information and
expression within library environments.

In New York, you have the right to identity documents that match your
gender identity. Join us for an overview of the Suffolk County Supreme
Court Law Library and Help Center, with an emphasis on the process for name
change and/or sex/gender designation change petitions. The Gender
Recognition Act, signed into law in 2021, has made it easier and safer to
change the name and gender marker on New York State issued documents. We
will cover resources available at the Law Library and Help Center, as well
as virtual resources that are accessible at the public library. Learn how
librarians and library staff can assist patrons to gather information,
understand helpful definitions, and find forms before coming to court.

Space, a state-of-the-art makerspace that opened in 2022. Designed to

features Prusa and Ultimaker 3D printers, a Carbide 3D Shapeoko CNC Router,
an Epilog FusionEdge laser engraver, and the xTool F1 laser engraver. The
space also offers sublimation and heat press tools, a variety of crafting
and fabrication machines, and a fully equipped media recording studio. CEUs
will be awarded.

Join the YASD Board at their 2025 Annual Luncheon on Monday, December 15th

include Veronica Agarwal and Lee Durfey-Lavoie, coauthors of the
middle-grade graphic novels Just Roll with It and Sink or Swim. We will
also be introducing the 2026 YASD Board Members and presenting our annual
YASD Teen Librarian Awards. The cost to attend is $55 for members and $60
for nonmembers.
