Programs/Meetings

Please join us (and share with appropriate staff members), for the upcoming Outreach Services meetings/programs.
• Public Libraries and Community Partners Meeting:
December 3rd – (IN-PERSON at SCLS) 10:00am to Noon -- This meeting brings together representatives from a wide range of community organizations/agencies and public library staff. Organizations/agencies will share information about their programs/services and network with library staff to talk about scheduling library programming/tabling/events.
• Disability Awareness Roundtable:
December 10th – (IN-PERSON at SCLS) 10:00am to Noon – This is an informal roundtable discussion about how to make your library programs, services and employment opportunities more accessible/inclusive to people with disabilities.
• The Retreat: Session 4
December 12th –(VIRTUAL) 1:00 to 2:00pm
This is the 4th and final session with The Retreat, highlighting resources/services for individuals experiencing domestic/sexual abuse.
• Public Libraries and Community Emergency Preparedness
January 21st (IN-PERSON at SCLS) 10:00am to Noon
Join representatives from the Suffolk County Office of Emergency Management and other emergency preparedness organizations, to discuss how public libraries can help their communities be prepared for manmade and natural disasters.
• Gang Activity and Human Trafficking in Suffolk County: This Program is geared to Library Administrators and Security Staff
January 27th (IN-PERSON at SCLS) 10:00am to Noon
Representatives from the Suffolk County Gang Intelligence and Human Trafficking Units will share information on how public libraries can work with the Sheriff’s Office to recognize and address the impact of gangs and human trafficking in Suffolk County.
• Mental Health Resources Roundtable
January 28th – (IN-PERSON at SCLS) 10:00am to Noon
Representatives from a wide range of mental health services organizations/agencies will share information about their programs and resources. The organizations/agencies in attendance provide services to people of all ages (children, teens, adults, seniors). This is a roundtable format/networking opportunity.
