I hope this email finds you well. My name is Caroline Sturken, and I am a
CoC intern at the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless. I am writing to
inform you that the Long Island Coalition for the Homeless will be hosting
a voter registration drive on Friday, August 2nd from 9am-6pm. In hosting
this drive, we hope to make voting more accessible for all. Please feel
free to inform your clients and other community members about this drive.
If you could send this information to other Suffolk libraries in the area,
that would be greatly appreciated. The agency has ample parking space and
is accessible by public transportation. All are welcome to participate!*

*Please keep in mind the following qualifications for voter registration in
New York State.
You must:

   - be a United States citizen;
   - be 18 years old (you may pre-register at 16 or 17 but cannot vote
   until you are 18);
   - be a resident of this state and the county, city, or village for at
   least 30 days before the election;
   - not be in prison for a felony conviction;
   - not be adjudged mentally incompetent by a court;
   - not claim the right to vote elsewhere.
