Dear Colleagues,

The next Long Island Library Conference will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at the Melville Marriott. The conference theme for this year is Libraries: Banned and Dangerous.

At this time, we are asking the Library Associations and Divisions to submit their proposed program offerings. I have attached the guidelines to follow. To assist in your planning, please note that the tentative schedule for the day is as follows:

8:00am - 8:30am Registration

8:00am - 9:00am Exhibits

9:00am - 10:00am Program Session I

10:00am - 10:30am Exhibits

10:30am - 11:30am Program Session II

11:30am - 12:30pm Exhibits

12:30pm - 2:30pm Buffet Lunch & Keynote

2:30pm - 3:00pm Exhibits

3:00pm - 4:00pm Program Session III

To submit programs we will be using google forms to make the submission process easier. The form can be found at the following link: https://forms.gle/kKvP7wiQ5Krq1gSN7 . Please note that EVERY program proposal MUST include sponsor information and will not be considered without it. If you do not have a sponsor, please contact LILCPrograms at gmail.com<mailto:LILCPrograms at gmail.com> or a list of possible divisions and committees that can act as sponsors can be found on the NCLA (https://ncla.info/) and SCLA (http://scla.net/) websites. We can also assist if you need program ideas.

All program submission information will be available on the conference website soon as well. Please see the attached Program Proposals Guidelines for further information.

The submission form must be completed by December 8, 2023.

The schedule of programs will be finalized by the conference committee at our meeting in January and notifications will follow shortly thereafter. Please be advised that we can only reserve space for programs with defined content.

We look forward to working with you to present a great conference experience for all. Please let me know if you have any questions.
