Dear Library Colleagues,
On May 16th , 2023, the Suffolk Cooperative Library System Outreach Services
department hosted the Mental Health Resources Mini Fair.
In an effort to continue the discussion of what type of mental health
programs and services are available to people of all ages, in Suffolk
County, I will be holding an ongoing IN-PERSON Mental Health Resources
Roundtable (MHRR).
The Mental Health Resources Roundtable will bring together library staff and
mental health services community partners, to develop resources and programs
for library patrons and staff.
All library staff are welcome and encouraged to be part of the ongoing
discussion. Mental Health resources are beneficial to library staff and
patrons of all ages. Your input is greatly appreciated, as everyone (in
every department) in the library may encounter situations that are related
to mental health challenges.
The first meeting of the MHRR will be held """in-person""" at the Suffolk
Cooperative Library System, on Tuesday, June 13th from 10:00am to Noon.
Going forward, I plan to hold a meeting three times a year.
I am looking forward to sharing information and developing mental health
related programs and services for public library patrons and staff.
If you plan to join us on June 13th, please register on the Gateway.
