Hi Amber (and whoever else is curious about this question),

Sorry for the delay in answering this question, but I do have an answer for you! I have been on the LILC committee for years and I am also the current NCLA President. The committee decided not to offer discounted registration prices for the conference this year for several reasons. When SCLA separated from NYLA, we no longer had their (NYLA's) event registration software and had to build registration from the ground up on Eventbrite. It being our first time using this platform, we needed to keep the pricing simple. In addition, we have had chronic problems with registrants either lying about or not being sure of their library association membership and it is an enormous task to verify each attendee's status. A single registration price was the best way for the committee to bring back the conference in person.

I was just curious why there is no discount for SCLA Members for the Long Island Library Conference this year? Historically, isn’t this how we get the most members?
