Longwood Public Library seeks
Part-Time Librarian I or Trainee for Adult Department
We are seeking a creative and enthusiastic librarian with a strong inclination toward public service to join our staff in our Adult Services Department!
The successful candidate must be flexible, have a positive attitude, be highly motivated, and knowledgeable about adult literature. They must possess strong technology skills, be creative, and willing to think out of the box when helping patrons in this fast-paced public library setting.
Duties in Adult Services Include (but are not limited to):
Providing research and reader’s advisory at a busy Reference Desk, instructing in the usage of library resources and technology, assisting patrons with the usage of public access computers, and teaching digital literacy skills either one-on-one or in small groups or in the library’s makerspace.
Qualifications:
ALA accredited MLS or currently attending an ALA accredited school, working toward an MLS degree.
Schedule:
Maximum of 17.5 hours per week which will include daytime and evening hours and a weekend rotation.
Salary: $28.50 (after July 1) for Librarian I / $25.50 (after July 1) for Librarian Trainee.
